What’s the best dog food?
Rather than answering this question with a specific brand, I want to provide some education first. Because while I believe in the brand I promote, it might not be the best answer for your pup, and I want you to be educated when making this crucial decision.
Let's start with some basic nutritional information. You pup's body was made by God. And for it to function at its most optimum capacity, it needs food made by God. So if God/nature made the food *** then your dog can eat it.
***The major caveat here is there are foods your pup may be allergic to, there are toxic foods you need to stay away from, and there are things that just shouldn't be eaten.
You've probably heard statements like "you are what you eat" and "you are what you ate, ate". These are very true. The source of nutrients for your pups body is important! The more naturally sourced, the better.
So if we are to take all of that in to account, here is how to answer the question of what is the best puppy food.
First, read your labels! If you can identify the ingredients on the bag of dog food as food...then that is a great start. You should be able to identify the majority of the ingredients listed. A new concept for me was that pups can have fruits and veggies, and actually that they should be a fiber source for them.
Second, real meat should be the first ingredient listed and meat meal should be the second ingredient.
Third, there shouldn't be any corn, wheat or soy listed. The reason is GMO, and these are the top ingredients that are genetically modified. Your pups digestive system doesn't know how to process these things, and so they are considered fillers that may lead to unnecessary problems.
Forth, answering the question as to whether dogs need grain, or if they should be grain free. I'm going to link a post here from someone who'e researched far more than I have about this: www.midwoofery.com.
And finally, answering the questions of whether kibble/home cooked/or raw is a better diet. For me, this is a personal question. If you are willing and capable of doing the research or following a program to cook meals for your pup, that would be the best way to go. For those of us who lack cooking or preparing skills, the right kibble is a great alternative. Either way, all dogs should eat a kibble for convenience sake when cooking or preparing isn't an option.
>>> After doing all my research in school and in vet clinics, I’ve chosen to partner with pawTree for my pups health. It’s all natural, with whole ingredients throughout. We maintain high standards for ingredients, especially that our protein source comes from real meat. (many in the industry have switched to pea protein because of inflation and supply). All products are fully refundable...but you won't need to use that guarantee because you'll witness the difference. We also have never had a food recall! More info on my website HERE
>>> Here's my personal experience with this food. For a few years, I tried cutting calories and exercising my overweight schnauzer to get her to a healthy weight. Meanwhile I was feeding her junk food, so her body was just being depleted more and more. I was working for a schnauzer breeder at the time, who switched her program over to pawTree. So I took a bag home to Trixie and began the experiment. She was excited to eat the new food, and after a couple of months lost the weight she needed to. Since then, she has more energy and has been able to maintain her health weight. I've watched similar stories with my clients when they switch...the most impressive being a golden retriever who lost 30 lbs in 5 months! Proper nutrition fuels the body correctly and doesn't hold on to the inflammation from poor nutrients.

Remember, good nutrition is at the core of everything:
how your dog feels
how it trains
how it looks
how it interacts
and so much more.
Which in turn will effect your life and how you feel and the stress you carry. So let's talk so I can help!
